Here's how to look for good dog food:
You look at the back, Check the ingredients:
Try to Avoid grains, soy, and Corn.
All Dog foods have fillers, but no two fillers are alike.
You will find there are either fillers or binding fillers( it keeps the meats and whatnot together)
Any solid kibble will have binding fillers to keep it together so it won't crumble apart. That part of food is a part of life and is necessary.

Peas for example are excellent binding type fillers for dogs (and fish) they help the digestive tract and help avoid constipation. I would hope the number 1 filler is pea/similar binding filler. If it weren't I might consider avoiding that brand. Talk to your vet on what vegetables are good in a dogs diet and it will give you a good starting point on what to look out for in dog food.
Some brands use other good binding fillers that are uncommon that are just as good if not better, so don't let that stop you from choosing a just as good food for your dog if it does not include peas, if that makes sense.
Dog food companies avoid peas or other good fillers because corn, wheat, and soy is sooooo much cheaper.

DOGS ARE OMNIVORES, straight meat diet is not only unnatural but is unhealthy. Save the straight meat diets for cats. Cats NEED meats or they get sick if there isn't enough meat and too many fillers. If your food has excessive meats and little to no veggies, I would question it for dog consumption….

Lastly, MOST veterinary diets…. you know those ones at vet clinic offices on the shelves…. avoid them. They aren't that great.
I worked at a veterinary clinic for many years, they contract Deals with the clinic to exclusively for use in clinic at a great discount, in return for their loyalty and selling rights (my clinic rarely ever sold food because we didn't need to stoop so low as to make profits from dog food sales…. those companies didn't like us for it but oh well) The deal is exclusive for that clinic because it honestly is not that great and no one in their right mind would buy it otherwise if they were smart enough to read the ingredients and know what is in it and how much.
With that said Some can and are seriously needed and are good for very specific medical cases, but those are usually never sold to the public, it is through a vet prescription ONLY (diabetes, UTI, etc…) (hence why we on occasion would sell food. That food IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE FOR YOUR DOGS MEDICAL CARE, don't skip it). other than that, the regular perfectly normal dog vet stuff is garbage.
    YOUR WELCOME!!!

Many of these vets are bribed by garbage companies like science diet. Read the ingredients! Orijen and acana (same company) is the best dry dog/cat food. READ THE INGREDIENTS!

You're a joke. A balanced raw diet is best for your dog if you can't afford that orijen is hands down the best dry dog food I have found.

Ask a vet? Why would I do that when they know little/nothing about pet nutrition and what they do know is taught to them by the pet food companies that sell this shit.

The FACT is… if you don’t feed your pets a balanced raw diet, then you’re feeding it an unhealthy diet.

Even those who feed Origen thinking they’re feeding good food…. the ingredients in Origen are great, but as soon as they cook it and turn it into those rabbit dropping pellets, all the goodness and nutrients are dead for your dog

I'm going to stop right there and call it out complete fraud this is a complete fraud and it's the indoctrination of trusting your retarded ass government labels and they just have to be good if they're certified by the government I'm going to tell you one thing a right now those companies are all sucking each other off and the amount of money it takes to get certified especially organic or anything like that is ridiculous and they're all in on the same game with each other making the same money and I'm going to tell you right now it's completely backwards than what this guy says you just have to know you're ingredients okay and you're not going to get it from this guy you want nothing but Whole Foods and yes companies that go out of their way for True Whole Foods and less preservatives and ingredients that are full of antibiotics or full of genetic modification and all of that stuff it's so bad matter of fact the ones that are certified have all of that bad stuff and it's the stuff and all of that stuff it's so bad matter of fact the ones that are certified have all of that bad stuff and it's the stuff that is giving your pet ear infections and skin infections matter of fact I'm doing a little bit of research on a bound right now because my American bulldog has had perfect clear ears for the whole 6 months since I've rescued him and just sent trying out the abound grain-free Foods he has a buildup of Wax that I have to clean out with Q tips every other day that's how bad it is so I don't know if it's the food or not I'm not saying it for sure is but you're going to get that with the genetically modified corn that's in all of the bad foods and as well as the other greens that the millionaire companies are making they have no interest in how healthy your dog is they only have an interest in attracting the consumer that has the money to pay for it yuppies

Yeah As LadyWoodsWallker talked below the food should be EU Certified like this https://bit.ly/2HELzfn food. I started feeding this food to my dog and she used to enjoy eating them. That is a very good sign for me. If you love your dog you should take care of your dogs. Many people don't know which is the best food. I suggested the above food for all my friends.

Him bragging about that stamp is like a doctor bragging about FDA approved stamp. You really think the FDA has your health in best interest? Just do your research look at dog food advisor .com and you will find what you need. Don’t listen to vets or YouTube comments. Do the research yourself because it’ll be unbiased. My vet recommended iams without me asking so it’s whatever but I prefer orijen. But just keep affordability in mind as well.
