In this video Blake Rodriguez works with two dominant territorial English Bulldog’s (GM of Sky Rink @ Chelsea Piers, Ronnie Talerico). The video begins with the results and change in behavior after working with DctK9, and then gets into showing you the issues before, as well as some of the work during. This case takes place in NJ New Jersey

For this case there were food treats used only after establishing needed fundamentals and boundaries (getting them to a neutral level)…throughout Blake used a slip leash to help him connect and teach the groundwork. Throughout the treats and rewards of life in general were used more than anything to teach the dogs that they only get these rewards and get to move forward when acting accordingly.

Omg. Blake I need your help with my 2 girl bulldogs. They are sisters and fight constantly. They’ll be 4 in Sept and I need help bad. I’ve been bitten so many times breaking them up. They don’t mean to bite me- they’re trying to bite each other when I get bit. But I’ve been bitten so bad, that now one of my fingers have nerve damage and I have scars all over my hands and arms. I’ve been bitten down to the white meat and tore wide open. This last time I had to get stitches it was so bad. Anyway, they mainly fight when my girl Fergie is sitting with me and she thinks Paislee is getting too close to me. Or when Paislee jumps up on me when we first get home, Fergie is like the disciplinarian and will attack Paislee as in to tell her to get down and stay down. We call Fergie the Security guard- bc it’s like she watches and waits on Paislee to mess up and if she hears us correct Paislee or tell her to stop doing something or tell her No, Fergie will come bully her and jump on her as if telling her to stop. It’s crazy and it has me a nervous wreck and I’m sure they feel my energy which don’t help. We have a total of 5 English bulldogs, their Mom & Dad and them, and we just got a new 4 month old little boy. Fergie has even attacked and snapped at him for coming too close to me. It’s like she thinks she owns me and sees me as her property. Can you help me? Is there help for this situation? && Is there any hope for them?? Please help? You did such an amazing job with these 2 dogs in the video and make it look so easy. But I’m sure it wasn’t and took time and lots of patience. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated??? Thanks, Ashley

She was not the alpha so they were both fighting for dominance.

Get harnesses instead of collars. Just as easy to hold them but way more comfortable and less chance of choking.

the woman is clearly a large part of the problem. Free affection to naturally dominant
dogs breed. Both are males and spoiled. Even a pretty good amateur can see the woman making excuses and not providing 'structure, boundaries, and limitations' (Gellman).

We are having the exact same problem with our 2 yr old and 7 month old bullies. One day things were wonderful and then it changed instantly. Its a process to say the least. Great insight here and gave me some hope that we can make our home peaceful again!

I absolutely loathe this breed. One killed my little Pekingese unprovoked. By nature they are aggressive, especially towards others of same sex, they smell, have health problems and are absolutely hideous. I don't see the appeal at all.

how about when the aggressive domination is from a bully who is deaf. my female is not aggressive toward my male. he stalks her and often I catch him fixating his eyes on her before he strikes but if I don't catch him in time, he attacks her totally unprevoked. he will not allow her near me for any length  of time. he knows hand signals but when he is in that frame of mind, they are useless. I need help in a big way!

I did wrk with them first sep. u would not want to c what they would have been like prior to that. THis case is a case that was not about tossing treats @ them 2 get them to like eachother. thats the vry reason why other vets/trainers gave up, couldnt help and evn suggested euthanasia. I disagreed n showed that they could be helped. Yes u want 2 reward the desirable behavior however in cases like this, ignoring the bad behavior doesnt make it go away.
